Separately from the rail-clamp contact surfaces, the actual bolt or bolts holding the clamp mechanism together can develop a subtle squeak from thread friction alone, even when properly torqued. A drop of grease or anti-seize on the bolt threads themselves, not just the rail contact surfaces, often eliminates this specific variant, and it's worth doing at the same time as the rail-clamp cleaning above since you're already in there.
