Tiiks vs Bosch eBike Flow: parts or the service book

Bosch eBike Flow updates the motor, locks the bike, and keeps the dealer service book. It does not count the chain as its own part. Tiiks does, from your Strava rides.

eBike Flow is Bosch's companion app for bikes with a Bosch Smart System motor. It pushes firmware, locks the bike, handles navigation, and keeps the dealer's service book. Other motors are outside it. Tiiks names the chain, cassette, and tyres from the catalog and counts Strava kilometres on them. The motor's book and the drivetrain's wear record are different documents.

The short version

If the bike has a Bosch Smart System: eBike Flow for firmware, Lock and Alarm, navigation, riding modes, and the dealer service log. It ships with the bike for a reason.

What eBike Flow covers

eBike Flow works only with the Bosch Smart System. Over-the-air firmware updates keep the motor current. Lock and Alarm runs from the app. Turn-by-turn navigation shows on the phone or a Kiox display. Riding modes are yours to adjust. Routes import from komoot and Strava. The dealer sets the next service date from their side, and that date shows on your screen. When the bike is sold, the digital service book transfers with it.

What Tiiks covers

Tiiks does not push Bosch firmware, lock the motor, or keep a dealer's service book. When a Strava ride syncs, the distance lands on the chain, cassette, and tyres that were fitted, under their catalog names, with the reviews riders left on that model. Any bike runs the same tracking, not just one with a Bosch motor.

Can you use both?

Yes. eBike Flow handles what the motor needs. Tiiks logs what the chain and cassette wore. Both can connect to Strava, so the same ride feeds the motor's log in one app and the parts record in the other.

Does the digital service book track my chain as a named part?

No. The book is dealer work: modifications, firmware, maintenance, battery tests. It travels with the bike when you sell it.
